Granolas III Space Elevator Alpha

This space elevator is the subject of many battles that have happened in the system. It is one of the most important ways to reach the surface from orbit, and it has the highest capacity. Even if the Hyperion Federation doesnt fight to own it (they use Teleporters), they still like to deny their enemies access to it. It also often is the first location that planetary armies arrive at he planet from, traveling to the surface via the space elevator. This space elevator is powered by large nuclear fusion power stations on the surface of the planet (The HF instead uses Planck-Dismantlement Beams) and can also be used to deliver energy to space via a large electrical cable that runs up the space elevator.
It also has defences mounted to the top. These typically come in the form of massive, highly powerful cannons that smaller defence platforms cannot handle, so even enemy capital ships are wisely wary of orbiting the planet too closely. It also has a shipyard built into it which is supplied by the large industry on the surface. There are other space elevators on the planet, but this is the largest and most significant. It is often damaged during wars, so the planetary industry is used to repair the space elevator each time after it is captured. It uses a large magnetic carriage as well, causing no friction between the cable and the elevator itself and improving efficiency.
