Project: Trinity

A large, antimatter based missile of the HF. The 'nukes' are filled with Hyperion Federation antimatter fuel, and can target specific points in space, giving the possibility to down entire fleets with 1 nuke. The area of effect is immense. The Trinity is also capable of targeting stars and planets, and can destroy planets and cause supernovas in stars, which will in turn cause all nearby planets to go uninhabitable and/or explode depending on distance form the star.    The Trinity is very fast though, making use of its antimatter as propellant which gives it an extremely large acceleration. Obviously it is unmanned, so does not need to be concerned with accelerating too rapidly to crush its own crew. As all HF missiles are engineered to withstand very large forces, the Trinity can be safely fired at any target with extremely high velocity. They are also armoured, so will resist a lot of CIWS fire before having an antimatter breach and exploding.   Also, unlike most other weapons of the Federation, it cannot be mounted modularly. The ship must be specifically designed to accommodate it. Furthermore, the very large missiles also emit a large energy signature and are easily detected even from very large distances. They are also largely limited by the Hyperion Ethics Committee so are rarely used outside of when necessary. A Trinity cannot be easily disarmed. Antimatter is extremely dangerous so the only way to disarm it is to Teleport the payload out of the missile into empty space. This runs the risk of capture or accidentally annihilating with random passing objects e.g. space dust and dark matter.
