Superstring - Class Subspatial Starship
A large Subspatial Starship of the Hyperion Federation. The Superstring class is capable of diving very deep. While it has no secondary armament, the primary is brutally powerful.
It has 10 Project: Trinity antimatter superweapons. The ship can fire nukes at multiple enemy positions while remaining invisible in the higher dimensions.
Like almost all HF military starships, the Superstring is fitted with an antimatter annihilation core producing extremely large amounts of energy. This is partially used to fabricate trinity superweapons, and filling the missiles with antimatter. It is one method the HF could use to potentially fire a large number of slipspace bombs via the trinities, in the extremely unlikely event that such a thing happens. This is because a single ship can fire multiple salvos of 10 trinity missiles (with the antimatter warhead replaced with a slipspace bomb) as it rebuilds new ones every time it fires. It is propelled by a small number of powerful photon thrusters, but they are not as powerful as one would expect for a starship of this size. This is because the ship needs to be structurally safe from travelling in the often harsh conditions of subspace / higher dimensions, but its role does not require it to be extremely fast.
Other than the Trinities, a Superstring class is entirely unarmed. This includes its lack of CIWS defence, and the ship relies heavily on remaining very deep in higher dimensions to stay undetected. For this reason, captains often fire in salvos in order to only give away their position once to any forces that observe the missiles emerge from subspace. A Superstring has little in the way of armour and shield defences as well.
