Quai

A species of large creature that floats on the Taidakic Field of Tebburus.
The Quai are a large creature that use their strong and very long tongue to manipulate potential food sources. They often use this to grab any food and drag them into the mouth. They are also large enough to eat Suons, this has happened multiple times in history. They can eat almost all Tebburus biomatter that are not plants. Althogh they are not extremely fast, they are very quiet and often sneak up on prey before grabbing them. As they lack teeth they must swallow prey whole so they have a chambered stomach.
The quai can see through 3, large eyes on the top of their head allowing them to percieve depth to a precise degree and providing redundancy. This improves the chance they will sucessfully grab onto any prey that attempts to escape rapidly. They reproduce by automatically laying large, partly transparent eggs asexually. The eggs will hatch after about 5 months and are about 3m in radius. After hatching, they will develop over the course of aobut 35 years before being able to reproduce themselves. On average, a single quai will lay 20 eggs over their lifetime but only approximately 1 survives to the reproductive stage, keeping their population relatively even.
During the early Tebburus Unification War they have been used as mounts for crossbows due to their ability to carry large weights and stability, allowing them to bring armour and remain accurate. They can be seen in several continents including Tastein and Jeskuar, but are not a worldwide species. They can also use their bioluminescence to fool targets into rushing into obstacles through precise manipulation of light. Surprisingly, they are quite easy for the WDA to ward off. As they are relatively slow and large, mos tbasic weapons fire can harm a quai significantly enough to cause it to retreat or be killed.
