Cherubim

The Host divides the Angels into different Choirs, placing them into a hierarchy from the most divine to those closest to humanity. Cherubim are the second of the seven on this list, with only the Seraphim being more holy.   The Guardian Angels are defenders of all that is right. When a place, a person, or an object needs to be kept safe against any force, these are the angels assigned to the task. They are usually strong and able fighters and they have fanatical dedication to their cause. If you're their charage, you can trust that they will keep you alive as much as they need you to in order to complete their task. That said, they have no reason to be gentle about it. A Cherub can be truly ruthless in how they grant their protection.

Basic Information

Anatomy

In their true Celestial form, Cherubim are a majestic, shining, and idealised specimen of some animal given wings (or addditional wings). Sometimes, they borrow traits from different animals, but the result is always awe-inspiring. Exactly what animal they stem from and any details differs from one Cherub to the next and reflects their soul. Any scars are proudly displayed, as are any weapons.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

All angels are able to hear The Symphony, but Cherubim can hear more than that. They can hear the drums building up towards danger, and they can listen for the sounds of someone they are watching over. This makes them extremely powerful, if not always pleasant, guardians. They might instinctively want to keep someone safe, but they might figure that tying the person up in a basement is a good way to do that.   Should someone manage to actually kill or destroy someone or something a Cherub is watching over, they form a new kind of bond with the perpetrator. One where they can hunt them down, wherever they go as long as they're not in the Thicket of Thorns.
