Mellar II am Ohnni

His Majesty, Mellar II am Ohnni

Mellar II am Ohnni was the last Ohnni Dynasty King of Imesse. Born the second son of King Jerim am Ohnni and the younger brother of King Jerim II am Ohnni, he had a brief reign and died with no heirs to follow him.   Mellar was crowned King after his brother Jerim II died while hunting giant bears in the far north of Imesse. Within just days of burying his brother, Mellar took ill and was confined to his bed for more than three months. He eventually regained his health, but never regained his strengths. He continued to rule for another year, but then took ill again and died in 79 AF after less than two years on the throne.   Mellar was without a direct heir, and rather than searching for a living heir from the baronial branch of the Royal House of Ohnni, the Lord Chancellor Mykal Mykalli named himself King of Imesse, and was affirmed by a handfull of nobles that happened to be present in Northridge.
