Bleakshore

Where the Great Desert of Dhor'kar meets the Great Ocean

The inhospitable coastal region where the Great Desert of Dhor'kar meets the The Great Ocean is known as the Bleakshore. This desolate and harsh stretch of land is characterized by its lack of fresh water and extreme conditions. The name "Bleakshore" encapsulates the rugged and unforgiving nature of this coastal frontier, where only the hardiest forms of life can survive. The misty dews and occasional morning mists that roll over the desert offer a scarce source of water for the resilient flora, fauna, and people who dwell in this challenging environment. The islands scattered along the coast serve as transient waypoints or, sadly, resting places for ships that have strayed into these treacherous waters. While fishing is possible, the absence of permanent settlements marks the Bleakshore as the edge of civilization, a boundary where the known world gives way to the vast and formidable Great Desert.   In the local Kep'Dhori tongue, the Bleakshore is referred to as "Naruqahel'kar." The term "Naruqahel'kar" translates to "Edge of Desolation" or "Desert's End" in Kep'Dhori. It conveys the perilous and desolate nature of the coastal region where the Great Desert meets the Great Ocean. The name reflects the Kep'Dhori people's understanding of the harsh environment and serves as a reminder of the boundary between their world and the vast expanse of the unforgiving desert.
