Frostdunes Chimera
Frostdunes Region
Superstition surrounds these strange and deadly creatures. They stalk the steppe in search of fresh meat. The clans regard a sighting of a chimera, or "nautmein," as a bad omen and destroy them on sight. Some believe they can summon Snow Devils at will. The village crones will tell you that if you are bitten by a Frostdunes Chimera and survive, you will transform into one during the next snow storm.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Frostdunes Chimera have the body of a naked humanoid, but lack any discernable sex characteristics. They are strong and fast, and boast a physique to match. Their head looks like a huge animal skull with a thin layer of skin stretched across it, and is crowned by a mop of greasy hair. Their entire body appears a mottled, frostbitten grey.
*Snow Devils
Frostdunes Chimera Movement (Mv) doubles while in area of effect of a Snow Devil.Genetics and Reproduction
Wendigo Curse
These creatures reproduce by cursing survivors, dooming them to eventually share their fate. The nature of the curse is believed to have evolved from that of a wendigo, but without the taint of the undead. The Trigger
The cursed will begin their change at the onset of a blizzard or snow storm. Not only does the storm trigger the curse, the curse in turn triggers the storm. It amplifies and holds the storm in place during the three-day transformation period. If the curse is broken, or becomes fully realized, the storm will resume its natural course.Growth Rate & Stages
Wendigo have no growth stages. When a cursed victim finally turns, the change is instantaneous and consistent. No matter the size, age, or species of the cursed individual, they all transform into the same beast.
Biological Cycle
They are not born and do not age.
Behaviour
They are most active during snow storms when they can move around out in the open without beings seen. It also makes snatching prey out in the open much easier.
