Capil

Capil is a small southern nation that surrounds the Gattus Bay. The main inhabitants of Capil are the Catfolk in their many forms, with their ruling family and their descendants being a specific subspecies of Catfolk that is not found elsewhere. Although the Catfolk are a traditionally nomadic people two nations of them currently exist on Tirestir, with Capil being one of them. Capil is known for the odd magically infused jungle territory, with the trees specifically denying the regular ecosystem that should be appropriate for the reason and instead seem to have their own biome and ecosystem separate from the world around. The Jungle of Capil is considered one of the places of wonder on Tirestir, and Capil is a major hub of tourists from both The Astarti Imperium and the world at large.   The Catfolk of Capil have a terrible reputation in the Imperium and other surrounding nations for being cutpurses and thieves. While this is true to a degree, as the lithe bodies, able climbing claws, and keen night vision make them ideal for these roles, the Catfolk are actually far more at home as wandering traders. The trading caravans of the Capilian Catfolk last for generations, with many of the Catfolk in the caravans being born on the road and dying before managing to return to their traditional homeland. These Capilian caravans are thus referred to as Vandi Capilian's as their unique culture that has developed from their life on the road and exposure to many cultures differs enough from standard culture in Capil that it is noticeable.   Another thing Capilian Catfolk are known for is their promiscuity, this can label that as sexual deviants in more reserved cultures, but this reputation also extends from a place of some truth, but more a cultural divide that is not easy to cross. The Catfolk of Capil are a free loving people and family units do not exist so much as communities do. Marriage is not a practice that traditionally exists in this culture and physical love and affection is freely shared among the catfolk, children resulting from this union are cared for by the mother but raised by the community at large, with all individuals expected to help teach and foster children born into their communities.   Capil, being known for its trading caravans, isn't known for its sea trade, and Capilian ships are few and far between. Capil mainly relies on vessels from the Freebooter Anchorage when needed to get to or from some place, and the military of Capil never conducts oversees operations that are not preformed by hired mercenaries that supply their own ships. The military of Capil is known for their guerilla warfare, and will send scouts far afield during campaigns to set traps, burn supply lines, and sew chaos within enemy ranks so even when outmatched the psychological damage of the catfolk is felt far before The Arrival of their main forces.

Fauna & Flora

Shimmerclaw Panther   The Shimmerclaw Panther is a striking creature found within the magically infused jungles of Capil. These panthers possess sleek, ebony fur adorned with shimmering patterns that seem to shift and change with the light, camouflaging them amidst the dappled shadows of the jungle. Their agility and sharp claws make them formidable hunters, capable of silently stalking their prey through the dense foliage. Legends among the Catfolk speak of the Shimmerclaw Panthers as protectors of the jungle, embodying the mysterious and elusive nature of Capil.     Enchanter's Vine   The Enchanter's Vine is a captivating plant that thrives within the magical jungles of Capil. Its vines twist and entwine, forming intricate patterns and symbols that seem to pulsate with ethereal energy. The vibrant flowers that bloom along the vine come in a myriad of colors, each with its own mesmerizing glow. The Enchanter's Vine possesses unique magical properties, allowing it to absorb and store ambient magic from its surroundings. The Catfolk of Capil harvest these vines for their enchanting properties, utilizing them in the creation of powerful charms, potions, and mystical artifacts.
