Jingling

Jingling is the dominant High Elven nation on Tirestir. One of the ancient civilizations on this continent alongside the Xosutan Kingdom that fell into disrepair due to The Arrival. Although still quite large it never grew to the heights that Xosutan did nor did it fall to the same depths during The Arrival. The ancient practices of this land extend through government, culture, culinary, and even the magical studies of the Jingling elves. The Emperor of the Jingling Empire is seen as having a mandate from the gods themselves to rule the people of their nation and is worshipped as sort of a divine emissary. They, and their family line, is seen as a direct continuation of the gods themselves, and they are said to claim to have the blood of ancient dragons in their veins, in a similar fashion to how the Kenpei Halflings claim their Emperor is a dragon in halfling form.   Jingling is prominently ruled by local generals and mayors of cities and it prides itself on organization and strict rule of law that all citizens of their lands are responsible for following, all the way up to the Emperor himself. They do not follow the serf system or even the harsher slavery system found in many parts of Tirestir and instead do count all of the elves and other people of Jingling as citizens, even if they dislike Tiefling and other commonly discriminated against species in the world. Although Tieflings are not as common in Jingling as Fey'ri, the elf version of a Tiefling.   Jingling has a military to Rival the Astartii imperium, with a strict organizational structure, advanced pike and bow tactics that are supplemented by lance bearing cavalry units and cavalry archers. They also employ advanced war mages that ride atop carriages that funnel the weave of magic into the casters, mimicking the effects of metamagic for those that ride atop them. Unlike the Imperium they dislike taking auxiliary troops from neighboring nations and it has led to a bit of a stagnant military technology, with tradition outweighing advancement. The Jingling Empire is also known for their incredible fort building, with massive walls, battlements, and keeps that stretch high and are fitted with magical wards that have led to the reputation that Jingling forts and castles are impenetrable.   Jingling is also known for their high quality of craftsmanship of their goods, it being the homeland of traditional silk making as well as beautiful pottery, weapons, and ships.
