Shokothre, God of the Hunt

God of the Hunt

They generally appear to their followers with the body of a white and black striped Tabaxi man wearing no clothing, over where their head would be is the skull of a massive deer that obstructs any vision of their face. They represent the hunt and are a patron god to hunters and predator animals. They are said to have given the world what they view as the gift of lycanthropy. They are regularly associated with Zatani, Goddess of Sex, Nyxella, Goddess of Healing, and Glory, Goddess of Mania being the husband of all of them. They are revered by rangers as well as some cults that are dedicated to him and his offspring and perform rituals to turn themselves into lycanthrope packs. Shokothre is a patron regularly chosen by Rangers, Bounty Hunters, and Bloodhunters for in their pursuit of their quarry it is Shokothre who gives them strength. However many do not realize that Shokothre values the role of the prey as much as the hunter, and if a prey can put up a good enough chase they can be rightly rewarded with an honored place in Shokothre's afterlife. There is another role for some to play, as a prey who can turn the tables on and best their hunter is one considered truly blessed by Shokothre.   Shokothre is also known to call The Wild Hunt of Shokothre, a ritual in which clerics and druids of Shokothre are all transformed into Lycanthropes immediately, and led to war by his son Shakar, to destroy and major foe of his faith, although this does generally cost the minds and bodies of these followers, it is a nigh unstoppable way to repel those who would defile holy sites of Shokothre.

Artifacts

The artifacts of Shokothre are a Bow and a set of blades of of green volcanic glass.   The Bow of Shokothre or The Bow of the Hunt is considered the best bow ever made, it seems to be made of an ebony black metal that is still flexible and light enough to be wielded as a flexible bow, with a string that appears as a very thing coiled wire of the same material. It is rumored to be in Cernunon. It is considered a great prize for any ranger, and although what magical effects it has are hotly debated by hunters, it is known to be able to always find its mark.   The swords of Shokothre are a pair of green volcanic glass shortswords that help their user become a fierce swirly wild animal in combat, unable to be broken and able to slice through near anything, these swords egg their wielders on to the savagery of the hunt.
