Sybel Tiriande
Sybel Tiriande, also known as Sybel the Exile, was an exiled princess of Tiriande. She was exiled after being discovered in negotiations with prominent city leaders to overthrow her sibling, king Eanfleth, and install herself as monarch.
According to scholars, Sybel cited Eanfleth's ruthless crackdown on refugees and lack of pushback against their late mother’s cruelty as reasons, though some believe this to be a fabrication created to whitewash the royal family's history, given that Sybel's granddaughter would end up inheriting the throne.
Sybel was an Aasimar of unknown divinity, the first Aasimar in the royal line. At the time, critics of the royal family took her resistance and subsequent exile as proof that the gods had forsaken the royal family.
The current queen of Tiriande, Queen Sybel Tiriande, is named after her; a decision that caused some controversy.
