Personal history
Born to parents she no longer remembers, Kindred had a relatively normal childhood at first. That is, until the government of Rheqo decided it was time to enlist her for some help at the age of 2, taking her from her parents. It was at that point she was renamed Experiment 288, or EX288 for short, and forced into the research program dedicated to learning how to make super soldiers who could merge themselves with summoned eidolons. Fortunately they had worked out all the major problems in the process and most of the experiments now survived the initial linking with their artificial eidolon.
Then started the many years of testing and experimentation for EX288, learning how to work with the eidolon, and attempting to merge with it. It was a very painful process at first with no real progress to show and a lot of magical backlash that almost killed EX288. The scientists started to get discouraged they had another failure. One day, some progress was made, the pain was less severe, and the backlash less intense. This caused the scientists to regain their hope and keep trying. Slowly, they got EX288 to the point where she could successfully merge with the eidolon, though she had nothing to show for the merge, at least not that she showed the scientists. It was at this point, she worked on an escape plan. Once the guards weren't paying attention to her, she merged, broke her cell open and knocked the guard out, stealing his air repeater, and making a run for it.
After making her escape, she was on the run for a time, moving from city to city, trying to find any safe place to hide. Eventually, she managed to cross the border into Tirsolar, and eventually made her way to the city of Hepios, where she came across the Hubsher farm. Seeing the young girl, the Hubshers decided to take her in and adopt her as well as giving her a proper name, Pumpkin Hubsher, nicknamed Kindred. She made fast friends with their daughter Rhuby, and eventually the two felt more like sisters than friends. It's been 4 years since then, and the two girls are still best of friends.
