Broken Barrows

The Broken Barrows are an area of hills to the south of the town of Seowyn's Crossing in Summerlund. Many of the hills appear to be artificial mounds, and many feature ruins of ancient and mysterious architecture. The folk of Seowyn’s Crossing call the people who created the barrows the Old Ones, but it's now known that they were the all-but-extinct Weavers.

Many undead wander the Broken Barrows, preying on unwary travelers, and many adventurers make a name for themselves here, slaying undead or unearthing ancient complexes. One of the only bastions of civilization in the region is the town of Firsthome, which lies partly underground. Firsthome was built in and around the area where the Warforged were first discovered, and the vast majority of the town’s inhabitants are warforged themselves. In 1080 SKR, it was discovered that the ancient Old Ones city of Greathome was also located under the Barrows, and it was excavated.
