Dhampir

Dhampir are a rare and unusual sort of people. Most are glad of their rarity, for they walk a line between the realms of life and death. Some say the first Dhampir was created in answer to a prayer to Oldorin of The Twelve, the Summerling God of Death. He granted a boon to a woman who had been attacked by a vampire, allowing her unborn child to come forth with certain undead-like powers in order to hunt down his mother's killer.
Dhampir have a touch of the vampiric about them, hovering between the living and the undead. They are often plagued by monstrous hungers that make them nearly a monster. But the strengths they gain are often put to work destroying those undead that prey on the living. They are paradoxical, but they are not forced on a path towards evil. Each one must find a path of their own to walk.
