Efreet

Efreeti are powerful elemental beings of fire from the Elemental Chaos. Although they were independent of the Primordials, the efreeti threw their lot in with them during the Dawn War. This decision has cost them greatly. The Gods have imprisoned many of them, sealing some of the most powerful and willful efreeti in inanimate objects and binding them to serve whoever finds such an item. The efreeti are proud beings, and they rarely repent of what they did during the war, although their atrocities were far worse than their Djinn cousins. As a result, few efreet who are bound are willing servants, and they seek to twist and warp the nature of their services at every turn. An efreet who remains free is likely one who made restitution to the gods long ago in gold or jewels, or one who tricked his master into freeing him, possibly killing the master in the process.
