Exarch

An Exarch is a powerful servant of a specific God. Although some are created directly from the divine, most are made when a god imbues a mortal being with a fraction of their divinity. Most Exarchs were once mortal beings who served the gods during their lifetimes. When they passed on, rather than continue to the Shadowfell to be sorted by Oldorin, their souls rose directly to the Astral Sea instead. While the majority of mortals who experience astral ascension in this manner simply continue to exist in their god’s dominion, some are given special power and sent back to spread the word and power of their god on Tol. When the gods made their treaty with the Primal Spirits, they made provision for their Exarchs to be able to manifest on Tol.
