Hastane

The Hastane, or Northmen, are a tall, fair-haired and fair-skinned Human people who dwell largely in the northern parts of the continent of Aldorath. Although they originally made much of their living from sea-faring, raiding, and warfare, they have matured into a people deep in wisdom and skill. They still maintain a strong naval force, but they are also capable warriors on land, organizing into war-parties and fighting with strong guerrilla-like tactics.
They originally hailed from the continent of Kodal, where they were enslaved, much as the Dwarves were, by Giants. Eventually, they rebelled, fought their way free, stole giant longships, and sailed south to Aldorath. They established their first settlement in the sea cliffs that became Sigurth's Climb, and their various explorations brought them into frequent conflict with Dwarves and Goblinoids alike. When the Seven Kingdoms were founded, they joined the alliance, and their territory became the kingdom of Norhast.
