Owlfolk

Owlfolk (the Noctua in their own tongue) are a strange race that seem to be related to breeds of giant owls from the Feywild. In their own legends, the Arch-Fey Oran transformed them and gave them odd magic, teaching them to see beyond what normal folk see. A small enclave inhabits the forest of Neldorin, but they say that many others came to Tol from the Feywild and settled in lonely places of the world. They are known for their incredible vision, especially in the dark, and they possess an innate ability to cast the detect magic spell through simple folk rituals.
Their silence makes them excellent scouts, and they sometimes make deals with the Elves of Faerinwold to work together when hunting. They have a great love of the night and the stars and often venerate The Sisters, particularly Onolaria.
