Duncan Frozen

Ducan Frozen was the the last High King of Montmend prior the the Mountaingate War. He survived the Great Extinction, and had to make the difficult decision to cloe the gate to its mountain city and to the Ice-peak Concord despite countless refugees seeking food and shelter to save his own people.

History

Duncan Frozen, a prominent leader of House Frozen within the realm of the dwarves known as the Ice-Peak Concord, showed remarkable leadership skills from a young age. Prior to the Mountaingate War, House Frozen lived in peace in Montmend. However, the Great Extinction took a heavy toll on their people, leading to dwindling resources and a state of scarcity and desperation. As the mighty High King, Duncan ruled with justice and wisdom, facing a difficult decision - whether to close the gates of the mountain cities to preserve their limited resources or to open them to refugees in need.
After meeting with Reghar Fireforge, leader of the refugees, to discuss this dilemma, Duncan ultimately chose to close the gates, leading to the Battle of Montmend, a conflict with the army of Kovintus and the start of the Mountaingate War. The war sought to exploit the mountain cities' resources, leading to a prolonged and devastating conflict.
Despite the challenges he faced, Duncan remained steadfast in his commitment to protect his people and ensure their survival in the aftermath of the cataclysm. He bravely led his people in the battle, but unfortunately, he lost his life during the Battle of Montmend. Duncan had three sons, two of whom died in the final battle for Montmend, leaving a legacy of sacrifice and courage.
