Medivh
Medivh was an important and powerful wizard of the Orrin Empire.
History
Medivh had a happy childhood under his father's care close to the empire's court. Learning Magic by his father side, by the age of 14 he was more competent wizard than the vast majority of those in the empire's court. Medivh soon became the court's wizard, and an advisor of emperor Arthas Hart. He was later on entrusted with the leadership of the Hesian Order in 1221 BD. Medivh took Khadgar Heigaari as an apprentice. Later, the war began between the orcs and the humans, as the orcs increasinly struck out, Medivh conducted intelligence missions. During one of those mission, the hesian order captured Garona Halforcen. Medivh did not harm the prisoner, has she had no information he needed, she was a mere curiosity. He sympathized with how Garona was an outcast and was impressed with her intelligence, having already spoken the human tongue fairly well. He taught her new words and phrases she quickly picked up on. Seeing Garona was no threat and that she had no love for the Horde due to Gul'dan's cruelty, Medivh decided it was more valuable to have an ally (or even a friend) among the orcs than another spirit haunting him. Medivh freed Garona under the condition that she would side with the empire when the time would come. She returned and met with Medivh on many occasions. Meeting him and his apprentice Khadgar. Medivh trusted Garona could become a valuable ally if she was treated with respect, and taught her a lot about the empire's way, even while he know she was also a spy of the orcs. Garona also revealed the position of orcish camps and outpost to Medivh, betraying Gul'dan whose influence weakened in Medivh presence, and helped him conduct precise strikes to the horde. A bond of trust grew between the two, a bond that became romantic as Garona gave birth to Medivh's son. However, Garona left shortly after, believing she was a danger for her child, Med'an. She asked that he never tell Med'an who his mother was. Bidding Medivh farewell, she disappeared from the rest of the world but would keep watch over her son from afar. Medivh raised Med'an in the war-torn region, abandonning his position as a court wizard or as the leader of the hesian order while Garona secretly watched over him from afar. Medivh taught Med'an armed combat and, as the youth grew closer to adulthood, helped guide him in his mastery of arcane magic. Once Garona was confident that she had shattered Gul'dan's lingering mental chains, she journeyed to reunite with Medivh. Medivh believed her when she told him how Gul'dan's mind control had affected her. Over the next several months, Garona and Medivh would be reunited, the court's wizard worked towards completely liberating Garona's mind from the Shadow Council grasp, a task that he was successful in completing.Family tree
