Richard Lionheart
Prince Richard Lionheart was a member of the royal family of Lionheart, and the son and heir of King David Lionheart. He later ruled over the Kingdom of Alterin as a wise and just ruler for over decades.
History
As a teenager, Richard often disagreed with his father and had quarrels with him, particularly over seceding from the Empire. When the Conqueror's War started, Richard rebuked his father for not stopping this useless bloodbath. A slightly drunken David — furious that his own son would question him — threw his goblet of wine across the floor, insisted he would make a better leader than Khadgar, and stated that he would not stop there after everything he's done. Richard accused David of always trying to emulate his father and that there were other ways to consider, but David replied that it was a prince's duty to strive to be like his father. Richard retorted that he thought it was a prince's duty to one day be a great king. The prince then took his leave, knowing that the argument was lost. During the war, Richard watched alongside David as a massive battle started. Richard told his father that he should have listened to him. David — angered that his son would question him again, this time in public while he was trying to instill courage in the kingdom's defenders — brusquely told his son that now was not the time. After the war, Richard grew up to become a wise and just ruler, greatly loved by his people. During his reign, he discovered more about his father's deal and plans, including his promise to Tezzeret Thuzad, a powerful wizard who wished to be free to study necromancy. Intrigued, the new king ordered to investigate the wizard, and quickly found out of the Cult of the Damned, a cult led by Tezzeret providing him great resources in his mastery of the dark art. Richard hunted Tezzeret with a troop of elite soldiers, killing him in 1162 BD. Decades later, A new menace came from the south, a terrifying lich, and his army of cultists walked on Alterin, and started to threaten greatly the kingdom's interest. Unbeknown to Richard, it was an evil he created, Tezzeret was resurrected as a lich by his follower and now hoped for a kingdom of his own. Richard died in the battle that followed in 1154 BD, the throne taken by the Lich Tezzeret.Family Tree
