Bezantur
Bezantur, formerly known as the City of a Thousand Temples. is a foreboding but prosperous port city located at the southern coast of the Thayan tharch of Priador. It is as diverse a place that can be found in the nation, a religious hub for those oppressed by the centuries-long rule of the Red Wizards and their strict adherence to the worship of magic above all else. It houses the infamous ''Crimson Keep'', an ancient temple surrounded by powerful traps and ancient magic that even the powerful archliss Szass Tam has yet to break open. This temple is rumored to house ancient and dark artifacts.

Modifications to the actual lore include: 1374 after the Great War:Szass Tam's machinations come to light as he uses the 10th level spell that he created: Beckoning Death to turn most people present in an army of undead monsters, with his cultists chasing anyone who had been lucky enough to survive the spell. The ancient artifact used to cast the spell, The Horn of Beckoning, is later stolen by the Harpers and is hidden in secret in Korrin's keep.
1450s after the Great War:
The conquest of Thay is met with little resistance, except for Eltabbar , which is under the almighty protection of Bigby.
1478 after the Great War
Szass Tam, the powerful lich who overthrew the Zulkirs of Thay a century ago, still rules with an iron fist over Bezantur, and almost all of Thay by now.
He is one of the first to proclaim his unflinching allegiance to Sehanine in this war. This is considered odd by most, as Szass Tam only pledges allegiance to gods that offer him more power, such as Bane who offered him a gargantuan amount of power in exchange for his soul in a thousand years. He uses the ongoing war efforts as a way to easily finance and orchestrate his attacks on other magocracies, with hopes of obtaining powerful artifacts that would allow him to access the Crimson Keep, which is rumored to be protected by an ancient spell that would have been cast by Vecna itself, before its ascension to godhood. There are old, mostly forgotten, tales about Asmodeus' ring being hidden within the foundations of the Crimson Keep.
1495 after the Great War
The Horn of Beckoning reappears in Neverwinter , but the casting of the spell is made in vain, due to a party of adventurers led by Edgin Darvis.
