Strixhaven, also known as the School of Mages, is an university built on a floating island that can be seen in the skies of Luiren. It is the most reputable institution for arcane studies in all of the planes, and is dedicated only to the elite of magic users. Being accepted into the school is no easy task, but it is child's play compared to getting out of the school with a diploma. The few who successfully finish their arcane studies in Strixhaven are considered of the highest cast of magic users and obtain many special benefits associated with their status.

Strixhaven was built on a floating island long before the Great War.

1493 after the Great War:

Élanos Rancourt, one of the mages responsible for the attack on the Golden Company , is killed. As a lich, he is sent back to his phylactery in the bowels of Strixhaven, locked away in a chest in the middle of a small pocket dimension. He found that hiding place when he was a young student and has uncovered many secrets in the tunnels hidden below the Silverquill dormitory. No one knows about his location.
