Haldred ran a peat farm from a bog near Phlan with his wife Millivent Moss, daughters Alleena Moss and Kithian Moss and sons Quayle Moss and Vollian Moss. One day a group of goblins attacked the farm and captured all the family members including Haldred.

Lifestyle was poor. Had several friends though and childhood was generally happy despite that.
Found a silver key wrapped in old rag while in his early twenties. Not sure what the silver is for but has worn it as a trinket ever since.
Made friends with a Male Human Paladin of Gond, Dreln Stonemantle, neutral, originally a farmer himself, by opening his home to the man to experiment. Dreln was traveling to Citdel Anteluas to revcover an abandoned relic of the Chirch of Gond and hired the young Haldred as cook/aide-de-camp to accompany him. At the Citadel, Haldred witness the paladin recover the "relic", which was a warforged named Bulwark. Haldred saw the man of slate stone come to life and become a companion to the paladin. Dreln was forever grateful for Haldred's service.
