Gazre Azam, Djinni of reknown, freed by the Dragon Scales. A few thousand years old. 20 years on Toril.  
  • Official Lore: In 1375 DR, Iphegor Nath was High Flamelord of the order and resided in the Flaming Brazier. The High Flamelord employed several fire genasi warlocks to defend his temple and, on occasion, perform special missions in the name of Kossuth. It was believed that Nath brokered a deal between the genasi and the primal fire elemental known as Sthes'kthes. In return for serving the elemental and his master Kossuth, the genasi were granted warlock powers. The four warlocks—Arthek, Duron, Canthel, and Dzivir—were known for their fire-related invocations and equally fiery tempers.
  • A huge fire elemental and 4 Fire Genasi Warlocks served with the HIGH Flame Lord, Iffagor Nathe. They came together and spawned Imix, the Prince of Evil Fire Creatures, the Prince of Evil Fire. Purpose was unclear but seemed like a necessary Evil for whatever they were facing. When Imix was formed, these 5 creatures left behind their essence in 5 items: Necklace, a Vest, Shoes, Bracers, and a Headband. Attuned to the item, those "worthy" can access the Plane of Fire! Worthy being actual power and/or Favor from Kossuth.   2 Temples of Kossuth in Thay: Flaming Brazier of Eltabbar- Supreme Temple in all Toril. Led by Sindri Cinderforge currently. Female Dwarf. 119 yrs old. Taking this church down a more neutral path.   Bezantur: 1000 Evil temples with a temple of Kossuth   Gazre Azam grants the Dragon Scales with the knowledge of the Riddle of Fire. Declares our destiny: We are needed. People of future importance. We must seek the Riddle. Other wishes were seen as things we could potentially handle without the Wish. -Harool is thankful for the destiny foretold by Gazre and for him choosing Riddle of Fire as our most necessary wish in the group. Harool ponders how lucky for Jarris to investigate such a mission to hunt down Zikran which brought the Dragon Scales this wish.   Mind Meld: 1) We saw a hooded figure through our MIND MELD between the Dragon Scales and Gazre Azam. I recognized this as Ralph's Friend!! He sent us to the other side of the world! 2) Mr. Ramsey detected that we were scrying. He had a lot of paranoia. He may have had magical protection like "ring of non-detection."   Commune with Kossuth:(3 questions) 1) Are the prophecies of Alaundo valuable to learning more about Iffagore Nathe? "No" 2) Is my father doing well? "NO" 3) Should we fight Red Wizards to obtain the Riddle of Fire? "NO"   We part ways with "Lucernas." Fire Elemental warrior who fought Zikran with us. He tells us, "Look me up, if you are ever in the City of Brass." He has a distinctive Hawk face for an Elemental. 14th Night we Return to Candlekeep: We bring back scrolls, Zikrans body, and 4 feet of crystal material. Most of Candlekeep is off in judgment over recent events that may have fulfilled a prophecy.   The queen of earth and king of sky shall meet, greeting each other in a rejoicing chorus that will shake the bones of the world. From this celebration the old will wake and the dead will walk.   Ledger with Candlekeep: +3000gp scrolls, +3000 gp Crystal=> 4950gp. We're positive baby! Some crystal material will be kept by Marro.   We quickly meet with the Candlekeep Squad: Janussi (Keeper of the Tome and Queen of Candlekeep, young with red hair!), Bookwyrm (Dragonborn, 2nd in Command), Zakari (hipponoid), Hayden Wolfson (seems likable, competant, but humble, similar to Jarris), Keelie, and 3 others. -Sindri Cinderforge, High-Priestest of Kossuth, is going to be invited to Candlekeep. She is part of a correspondence for magic items, but also the questioning of Zikran's body. - -Tilda Nystrum sends regards: Marro's sponsor -Cormyr has sponsored Marro and Jarris's company to Stryxhaven; Marro gets an Amulet of the Planes for Stryxhaven. Apparently, the Seer, requested us get access to Stryxhaven over 7 months ago...

    Magma, Marro, and Ashgarlynn headed to Candlekeep. Jarris and Harool stay back. 1000Gp in Herbs and oils plus 30 gp for a cart sent by Harool. Harool casts Aid, create water, and uses Inspiring Leader on the group.   we fly in a cart. Jarris casts Invisibility on Ashgarlynn.   The mountainside splits, leaving a natural cleft in the rock. Descending into this cleft, you come to an icy fortress that once was 6 stories tall, but now only the first floor and part of the second floor remain intact, the higher floors having collapsed long ago. The rubble left from this collapse surrounds what's left of the keep, and are scattered down the cliffsides.. A twenty-five-foot-tall double door made of bleached wood with bronze fittings provides the only entrance at ground level. There are 2 doors on the room above and a staircase that descends down to the first floor   Roof has a couple Giants possibly. The ghosts of two cloud giants wander this hall, the floor of which is made of frost-covered white and green tile. A worn carpet leads from the entrance to staircases going up and down. Two doors to the west lead to other rooms. Three giant-sized display cases along the east wall hold faded documents.   Giant info for Harool: They were an isolated clan, content to live in peace away from the squabbles of other giants and mortals. Their propensity for using magic to alter the weather caught the attention of one of the Wind Dukes of Aaqa on the Elemental Plane of Air. This benevolent entity gave them access to powerful elemental magic in exchange for their fealty. After learning and harnessing this new magic, the giants became a force for good in the region for many years, until their patron was overthrown in a coup. Enemies of the deposed Wind Duke wiped out the giant clan, and their keep fell to ruin as the last remnants of the clan fought against their eradicator   Jarris Fireball, then TKd into the roof by giant. Harool casts bless on self, Magma, and Jarris. Magma slashes the first ghost to death. Marro comes around the corner. Wife comes around the corner and she does a wind howl that pulls Magma, Marro, and Jarris closer. Harool gives inspiration to Marro and prevents a fail. Jarris crushes the wife from behind.   We go to a display room. Short Rest. We gather 12 big awesome scrolls. WE all fill up on HP, Magma uses some HD, refresh a couple spells.   This room was once a giant's bedchamber. A huge four-poster bed stands against one wall. Other furnishings include a desk, chair, and three wardrobes, all sized for cloud giants. At the desk sits a spectral cloud giant wearing a fancy housecoat. It appears to be in the act of writing something, but without paper or pen-the act is just a mime.   Magma totally hacks the spectral giant to pieces. Jarris puts Haste on Magma. We rush out of the room to the lower level and rush into the next room. Big Dining Hall: his room's ceiling is mostly intact, except for a portion to the south. This room has large fur carpets on the floor and sturdy tables that can seat a dozen cloud giants at mealtime. A center table accommodates three cloud giant ghosts, who are playing some kind of card game. A door in the north wall stands ajar. That same wall has a lit fireplace that also heats the adjacent room. 3 giants. They take 2 fireballs, and scorching ray, as well as many of Magma's swings.   Harool checks next room: Kitchen: This kitchen contains a large stove, cupboards and cabinets for storage, and a fireplace. Two ceramic jugs sit on a twelve-foot-high table in the middle of the room. One of the jugs is blue, the other orange. Standing next to this table is a cloud giant ghost going through the motions of preparing food, but without actual food or utensils-the act is just a mime. Magma runs down the stairs. Harool follows. 2 Water Elementals and 6 Ice Mephits appear on the stairs surrounding us.

    Jarris and Morrow buy some spells:50 levels? 6 heal potions for the party, 2 for everyone but Harool. Myramm ensorceled 788, died defending candlekeep in 1182. Harool scroll: 3rd: Speak with Dead, 2nd: Locate Object, 1st: Cure, Cure, Cure, Create/Destroy Water, Ceremony   Myramm visits Marro and tells him a passcode to get to a special room. Talks to Demilich Garlyth talks to Bookwyrm about using some searches through Aluandros stones. "Magma" or "Harool" "Riddle of Fire" "Kossuth laughs at" "City of Brass" "Powerful Efreeti's"   RavenJeer is imprisoned. They intercepted my sending spell. The embers float as the heat they possess allow them to rise to new heights, catching flame to all they graze. One ash falls fast with a weight of great focus, while the other floats a bit longer. The latter ash drifts seeking for a grand purpose. But this ash finds no purchase as it evades contact with all it passes. The 4 sparks are powerful, the first three find dedication, direction and make tangible connections. The last ash floats on the winds, ever observing. But as all must, the last ash will finally land tipping the scales of fate. This is a compelling connection is made by the 4th spark. The ashes land marking friend & foe, exposing secrets with relief rubbings they initiate. The embers are to burn this worlds impurities. Like scales on a wyvern, emboldened in tandem for protection of the collective, the 4 sparks engulf Faerun. Flame spreads wild once all 4 find purchase, leveling all in its wake. The connections of each spark creates a wide base. This stability will resist many hardships. These enlightened specs of dragon scales will be a force of balance, cleansing & enlightenment for a new age of Toril. The imagery is flint & steel clicking in darkness. Small bursts of light flash a few times. Then a bright red ember catches. It floats, then breaks off a smaller orange ember. Then a flake of lavender ash falls from the red ember. The ash also breaks into two, the second a cadet blue. As these 4 specs separate & form, they are maintaining a streak of energy that softly tethers them together. They begin to make a haphazard 4-sided shape of sorts. It seems to be rocking wildly as it forms, but the 4 specs seem to begin to counterbalance each other. The shape levels out into a perfect square. It continues to spin, stretching out in dimensions to form a diamond. Now fueled with synergy or centrifugal force, the diamond spins like a top. It spins faster & faster until it is a blurring beam of light that glows brighter & brighter. It seems to envelope you in a peaceful aura. You feel the light expose a surrounding of unique forces and wonders, but you feel a sense of belonging, safety & optimism.   Keelie is fine and is helpful towards us. We speak to Ravenjeer .   Commune spell: Metal dragon egg, with a dragon nearby. Off the Ghost Elves: 2 Healing Potions and 37 gp   Ghosts got slashed by Magma, one frightened Jarris...he aged 20 years just before annihilating them with Magic Missiles. Going into the secret door into another door. Dragon Ashgareth   Harool gives 50gp in incense. Jarris Nat 20 persuasion to investigate mage disappearance. Free a Djinn that is trapped.     27th of Leaffall, 1500 DR

    Naked people bath house. tavern called the Hearth. House of rest is pretty cool. 3 stories. Front half is rooms. The rest is walkways and tables and overlooks. Fancy breakfast burritos and bread.   Garlyth Greycloak verifies our presence. Fayla is our messenger helper at the House of REst. The Pillars of Pedagogy for books.   Garlyth helped look into the Scry of Mr. Ramsey. Modern clothes, underdark, unhealthy, corrupted by magic.   Harool's study History: timeline of last 300 years, some includes info on Istishia, heads of state, I write the names. Book of the Black flame. Power and effort from Thay. Druid Lich that fought Istishia. Istishia's history in wars on Fearun spanning 400 years up to year 1480ish. Lots of known instances of attacks and encounters, some addresses of camps and people who have worked with them. It is dated up to 1490ish. There is a mockup pamphlet on creating a sending stone type book set. He says they are used by wizards and scholars who remain at great distances. A few are in Candlekeep and would be hard to get off another person who owns it, but he can ask around.   Magma: 30 dragons book, 13 are dead, names and locations abilities, immunities, breath weapons.   Marro:Marro got a Witherbloom book, 2 other liches memoires (both wrote them before they died). Book on Necromancy spells. * - history book/memoirs on necromancy art and practices from its top followers * - knowledge on magical tattoos and how to create, ink, and use them * - book on strixhaven   Ravenjeer and Keelie are going to take us to dinner. Keelie is the successor of Ravenjeer. Contract with Cormyr. Ravenjeer can guide divinations into actual fates.   Magma and Harool write the a letter describing the glory of Kossuth and the adventures of the Flame Tongue and Inigo.     26th of Leaffall, 1500 DR

      Dragon Scale of Cormyr Jarris Fairblade in Toril 26th Marpinnoth 1500 Jarris and Boggstaff try to keep the horses in view and call out to house that they are there. If there is a pull bell he will use that. Jarris takes in the entranceway. Looks for ‘instructions’.   Cumin(pink) and Corriander(greener tint) in Kitchen: Magma nat 20 on knowing about Humonculi. Creature forms around the magical stone and is a servant to a spellcaster. They bow low. They are tied to Shamblin and Fistandia.   Coriander takes Harool's helmet and Cumin takes Magma's loin cloth.   Tangerine cat plays with Magma. Flying, glowing lizarrd in the plant garden. Faerie Dragon! Identified by Jarris.   Magma points out that the masters must still be alive since the Humonculi are still working. Jarris thinks they may be detained and not just away.   Marro grabs a mimic chair. The party quickly dispatches. Cumin says, "The problem may come from the Lab. We aren't allowed there. Up the stairs and to the left."   Statue at the top has a neckerchief with a clue for us to rotate the statue facing outside. The attic door above opens up. All But Jarris go up. Magma and Harool are looking into the Armoir. Magma notices the handles on the Armoir are different. The Snowflake melts for noone. We see a 5' tall ivory complected woman, or Snow Elf, and a nice-looking Ogre.   Lab is likely a red herring. I can't find any secret doors in there. Marro and Jarris think the Mimic came out of the jar that broke on the floor. Marro keeps the astronomy book. Jarris keeps a Mordenkainen book on TIME.   Astronomy room Marro and Jarris align the telescopes and the stars shine brighter, which opens a secret door.   Found a special book with a big Red letter L. Also the book of EDS. We now have an E, L, and T. Shamblin always liked Silver over other items. Mimic has a bunch of books tied to it. Jarris incapacitates it with Dispel Magic. Jarris casts knock to let a Book about Humonculi free. I realize that we are destroying some of Fistandia's personal stuff.   Found a "Y' book in the trophy room.   Found a "B" book in the bed room. Lots of alliteration for B Category stuff.   Book Of ESD: Fistandia left a lot of notes on Shamblin in the Margins. Sailor, young pirate, loves silver, Liberty. Password Liberty?   Marro looks at Dolls. Finds old note. 1407 DR. They couldn't make kids, but they made Humonculi or some other creatures. Marro and Harool notice the library has an extra space. Jarris unlocks the secret door. Stairs lead beneath the library. Menagerie Room: Jarris kills a baby SLaad hiding in the corner of the room.      

    Iron Codex delivered!
    25th of Leaffall, 1500 DR

    Morrow is asleep from drinking the lightly enchanted by enchantment magic water.   Jarris tends to Morrow. We search the room and see if Morrow will recover soon.   Magma: Iron Codex info:   The Iron Codex was created by an ancient demon whose name has been lost to time. He placed part of his spirit within the book and sent it to the mortal plane, hoping someone would read it and thereby free him on this plane to cause chaos. His plan nearly worked. An evil wizard named Ardos found the book, and worked spells upon it, hoping to summon the demon and then control the infernal beast in order to conquer a neighboring kingdom. His plan was foiled by a band of heroes who then took the book far from the kingdom, promising to create a permanent prison for its evil.   Spook got a large brass birdcage. 2' X 1' X 1' in the large spider room. Big 3" secret drawer in the bottom of the cage containing parchment. Note that says: Dispel Good and Evil with a smiley face. Note: "Place Iron Codex here".       Jarris finds evidence that this cage is from Candlekeep.   25 gp of incense. Divination: Kossuth: How do we remedy Morrow from whatever is giving him his sleeping problem?   Answer: Low crackly voice. In the smoke as it says the "one Marro has" an image of a vial appears. As it mentions what it bestowed upon you, in your head Harool the knowledge of the Dispel Evil & Good spell comes to mind. You also think of a remove curse and some harder, natural remedy.   I very easily give Morrow some potion, lesser restoration. He slept for an hour and a half.   Marro : The codex will call to its infernal masters if removed from the Temple altar. The heroes depicted on the first room's mural devised this temple as a means to protect the Codex and prevent any evil forces from acquiring it. They created an altar of immense power to imprison the book. The magic of this altar would prevent the book from summoning its master's minions, and a temple was constructed around   the altar so no mortal servants of the demon could retrieve the Iron Codex. The heroes then buried the temple beneath a fallen mountain, hoping it would remain buried and forgotten by humanity, and the Codex would be permanently lost.     I find a secret door in the center of the Scriptorium. Morrow identifies the birdcage. It has a pocket dimension that holds and sends items to candlekeep.   Jarris casts knock twice on the secret door of the Scriptorium. Used two Knock Spells to open hidden passage door. Heat radiates from the Iron Codex. Alter with small human boy is by the Iron Codex on the end of the room. It is probably summoning help from the bad place. Marro uses magic to put the Iron Codex inside the birdcage and we exit the vault of the Band of Heroes.   Gifts and letters sent through the bottom of the Birdcage.   1 of 250 copies.     20th of Leaffall, 1500 DR

    Thanks to help from Magma, I was able to properly divine from a messenger of Kossuth, some mysteries about the Iron Codex (It tooks a third more incense than the usual casting cost.).   Iron Codex: Book of steel pages. Destroys readers. Summons strange magic. Immeasurable power. Arcane dangers. Destroys the world if disturbed from the sacred resting place.   Divined Dangers: "Cold Air". Possibly white dragons in the Storm Horn mountains.   We grab horse blankets, ponchos/cloaks for all. Give Adrick 58 gp. Morrow buys 40 days of rations.   Mahmet says thanks for saving them from Samual.   Tilverton. I have been there before. I used to get supplies on occasion.   Teleportation location: Tilverton is 2 days north. 6 days from Eveningstar. 8 days travel between Eveningstar and Abbey. 7 days to cross the Storm Horns.   RavenJeer grand-daughter in a long line of famous and powerful Diviners. Alaurdo divined own death. 37 tomes of his prophecies.
