Gnashing Maw Grotto
Beneath the roaring tides that crash against The Steppes is the Gnashing Maw Grotto, a subterrainian cave system that houses the secret cave port, Dock-Beneath-the-Sea. The grotto holds both the merchant and war fleets that make port and seek to trade with the citizens of Adrimor's Reach and House Moss.
The grotto' enterance is flooded when the tides are high, leaving any docked ships uneffected, other than those that need to wait until the tides receed to exit the grotto to access the Torrose again.
The grotto is a cavernous mass, nearly two square miles, of placid waters that is locked off from the outside world with one way in by sea and one path by land that winds through the underground for a few miles before the light of the sun can be seen again, dumping off about a mile outside of the castle. These long winding paths are patrolled regularly, but their sheer width make it difficult to keep alight without a massive amount of manpower to dedicate to the task.
