Star Wolves

The Star Wolves are the most elite soldiers of Kasluma, tasked with guarding the city, the ruling Monarchs and the Council of Elders, and the Baltos Forest as a whole.
The few dozen soldiers that have attained this status primarily serve as bodyguards to the monarchy, the Royal Family, and the Council of Elders and their immediate family as well as sacred places, like temples, waystones, and places of import and cultural significance in and around the city.
Star Wolves are not made, but found, called out to by the Lady of Dreams. No members are truly sure as to why they were chosen; some were already vallant and skilled warriors with decades, if not centuries, of battle prowess and prestige under their belts, some were barely old enough to hold a sword, there are even some whom the most dangerous thing they've ever laid hands on were parchment and ink before becoming a Star Wolf. But all members, past and present, claim that their trance-dreams, no matter how active, began to go silent and dark, swirling with white and silver miasma before the chorus howling of wolves and the visage of one that wakes them abruptly. From here they all report restlessness, a difficulty completing their meditations, and deep yearning to wander the woods and mountains of Kalbela to find their wolf and follow it to the end of its natural life, its pelt falling to the ground like the leaves of autumn.
