Summer's Ide of 758

The descandants of the Brotherhood of the Silver Shields had been fighting since the day Lord Bastion Holt died, nothing was too trivial to stir the pot and rattle sabers and many of the lords and knights had built alligences and rivalries amongst themselves in an attempt to maintain political and militaristic control over their lands.   Many historians noted that cartographers had completely halted mapping the borderlines of the Southern Lands and The Steppes between the southern Houses as they were literally changing by the day; it seemed so often so that most of the lords themselves didn't know what they owned on any particular year, month, or even day sometimes.   These malleable, if not, non-existant, borders would lead to what would be later named the "Summer's Ide of 758" when tensions between two seething and loathing factions, the Mosses and the Faalcones would errupt over into a near thirty year war, dragging the entire south of Empire into the fray from which it would not recover.   On the 13th Day of Summer's Tide, 758 ATS, Cecilia Moss, grand-niece of Lord Declan Moss and a girl of fifteen, would inadvertantly cross one of these ever-changing borders into Faalcone lands while riding through the Baltos Forest, an activity she'd done regularly since she was small.   She would be intercepted by Faalcone men and be thrown from her horse before being drawn for a few hundred yards by her captors as a warning for future trespassing, they had a more sinister punishment for the present transgression.   She would stumble out from the forest and back towards her lands, battered, bloodied, bruised, and branded for more than week before finally being located by Moss bannermen.
