Third Tenet Enforcer
Knight, religious zealots and professional soldiers make up the bulk of The Third Tenet. These are all trained warriors who took part in the order's initiation and dedicated their lives to thwarting Kaos.
Whilst their equipment is highly diverse because each member must acquire it for themselves, they are quite recognizable by their hidden faces and bland, unmarked clothes.
Equipment
Enforcers must acquire their own armor and weapons, so their gear isn't standardized. There are specific doctrines and techniques taught to Enforcers however, which does result in a mostly uniform tendency in terms of equipment.Armor
Enforcers usually travel in small groups and they are often outmatched in numbers or in strength, so Enforcers prefer heavy armor, often outfitting themselves with plate armor if they are able to. Enforcers live their lives on the road and thus, they often wear their armor for days without end. Their comfort is often important for them, so they usually try to find a compromise between armor coverage and ease of movement.Weapons
Just like their armor, their weaponry differs from Enforcer to Enforcer. There are certain trends amongst them however and most of them follow these.- Enforcers usually carry one handed weapons such as swords and maces, usually mixed to provide versatility.
- Some Enforcers use ranged weaponry. As they are usually the ones initiating combat, they can prepare heavier crossbows instead of relying on the swiftness of a bow.
Miscellaneous
Enforcers usually only carry enough equipment for themselves. When on the road, their gear usually fits into a backpack or similar. That being said, every Enforcer carries with them the following:- Rations and drinking water.
- Coins and other valuables.
- A bedroll and/or camping equipment for a small tent.
- A book containing the tenets most important to them.
Duties
As Enforcers rarely take part in military campaigns directly, they don't have a set of duties specifically for them. When joining an army, they take on the duties of the average soldier in that army. When they are on the road however, they do in fact fill a particular role in their respective party. Depending on the size of their group, the same role can be filled by more than one individual. As their groups usually consist of 3-4 people, some of these roles are unfilled.- Scout: Familiar with the upcoming terrain and potential threats.
- Healer: Trained healer able to tend to wounds and other ailments.
- Spokesman: A trained negotiator capable of securing good deals and more payment.
- Leader: The person in charge, who decides on the correct course of action and leads in a fight.
- Muscle: A strong individual who carries heavy weapons and equipment if the need arises.
Qualifications
There is are more than one ways of joining The Third Tenet, but there are various prerequisites to being accepted. An aspiring Enforcer must be human, must not have children and they must be a faithful believer of The Church of Order since their birth.- The most straightforward method of joining The Third Tenet is to travel to one of their properties and apply. Once there, the local Master will interrogate a new recruit to see if they meet the aforementioned requirements. If they do, they are accepted as a recruit and trained for a year before they become an Enforcer.
- The other method of joining is to accompany an Enforcer group on a mission and win their respect. If someone proves to a group that they are worthy to be an Enforcer, the group might ask the individual if they want to join. As all Enforcers are well aware of the prerequisites, they would never suggest a new recruit unless they meet them, so the initial interrogation is skipped in these instances.
