Summary

Former Daimyō of the Date Clan; a brash, excitable young man whose skill with the blade was almost unparalleled. He led his followers with a mixture of actual leadership and pure charisma, always ready with an inspiring word or a smile. Recently, he abandoned his attempts at conquest in pursuit of closing the minor rifts to the Dreamlands that have begun appearing around Japan. As the original rift lies in his territory, he saw it as his obligation as a ruler and citizen of the country at large to deal with these anomalies before they could become a threat.
Masamune had a particular fascination with his direct subordinate, Katakura Kojūrō. He called her his girlfriend, bragging about their relationship to anyone who would listen, and she did not particularly object.
This Masamune met his end at the hand of Musashibō Benkei during the Mōri Martial Arts Tournament. When cut down with Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, he simply popped out of existence, not leaving behind so much as a corpse or a soul.
