Hashinara R&D
A part of the Hashinara Clan's success can be attributed to their research and development arm, better known as S.P.I.R.A.L.. Headed by Sarutaba Chino and supported by philanthropist Ryūzaki Sanosuke, the group has produced a variety of useful and interesting items based on materials found throughout the Cardinal Generals' adventures. However, Sarutaba Chino was once a doctor and now a scientist. She is not, by her own admission, an administrator. So, S.P.I.R.A.L.'s effectiveness has been hampered by poor management and a lack of manpower, meaning that their production is largely unable to keep up with the breakneck pace adopted by the Hashinara Clan in every matter.
Most recently, heiress Chōko Dufour has suggested a solution to this. With S.P.I.R.A.L. under her management, she promises a factory worthy of Developpment Dufour with the staff to match. Major shareholder Ryūzaki Sanosuke had his doubts about handing the reins entirely to a newcomer, however, and a foreigner at that. So, by his recommendation, Princess Kaguya was brought in to partner with Miss Dufour in reinventing S.P.I.R.A.L.
