Kikkawa no Myōkyū
Spirited Beauty
Mystic Blossom Kikkawa no Myōkyū (a.k.a. 吉川 妙玖)
Summary
The wife of Mōri Motonari, Oni Daimyō of the Mōri Clan. Kikkawa no Myōkyū's beauty is renowned across Chūgoku, and many Oni men have fought and bled in attempts to earn her heart. All of those efforts, however, were futile as Lady Myōkyū's interests have always laid elsewhere. She and Motonari have been happily wed for some time, and their only regret was that they could not further their family line together. Eventually, this was solved by the introduction of Mōri Tamahisa as a consort, but Myōkyū still harbors some mild resentment against that man who stole her lover's bed, even if it was toward a cause they both agreed upon. Though she is normally the very picture of beauty and grace in all settings, Lady Myōkyū possesses a rebellious, free-spirited streak that often sees her outside the castle walls and on adventures of her own. Townspeople all around Yoshida know and love her, but also keep her goings as secret as they can. It's well known that Motonari does not approve of her solo excursions, thinking them too dangerous while the clan is at war. Despite Myōkyū's own potential as an Oni Mystic, the Mōri Daimyō still attempts to send bodyguards with her whenever she leaves. She herself finds this far too stifling, however, and it is a rare piece of discontent amidst their otherwise idyllic relationship.Social
