Tōdaisen Nobuhara

Chief Minister of the Hashinara

Clan Administrator Tōdaisen Nobuhara (a.k.a. 東大選 延原)

Summary

Tōdaisen Nobuhara was once in line to be the head priest of Tōdai-ji, and contested the position with the temple's current high priestess, Yokokazu Ume. During the battle that followed, he lost his right forearm, but not his drive. With that position barred to him, he instead set about making himself indispensable to the clan's then-leader, Katsusada Shishauezaemon, and quickly became the clan's foremost adviser and manager of affairs.   Though quiet and with a reserved, polite presence, Nobuhara values duty and discipline above all. He is not happy unless he is in a position of great service to one in power, and everything below him is in order as well. Though this may cause him to come off as somewhat cold to those he works with, he seems to have developed genuine affection for Hashinara Yoshiyuki, who succeeded her father publicly after his assassination.   Nobuhara considers hobbies frivolous, but he does care for a small bonsai tree between his other duties. It grants him a small amount of control, he claims, even when such escapes him in the chaos that is the Hashinara Clan.
