Drachon
Drachons often also called Dracons are a sentient species that belongs to the order of dragon-like lifeforms. They do possess three pairs of extremities and a tail as well as rather dragonlike heads. They are not full dragons as they lack some of the abilities of dragons, most prominently, they are not known to be able to breathe fire.
Compared to humans, they are significantly bulkier but roughly the same size when standing and have natural armour protection by scales on their skin. Also, their build is not humanoid but features more draconic proportions such as a longer neck, shorter legs etc. Many Drachon subspecies have less than five digits on their hands and feet.
Most Drachon races have small wings that can not be used for active flight. However, at least one subspecies is known to be capable of flight or at least gliding and using the upwinds like some birds of prey do.
Of course almost all Drachon active magic users use their magic to make their wings "work", for example by levitating themselves and using the wings for trust and manoeuvering or by magically enhancing their wing's effectiveness.
There are a few known species of Drachon, primarily known from The Great Unknown and The Jungle of Heds, that do not have wings at all but have a fully developed third pair of "legs".
A species closely related to the Drachon are the Dragonit. This species is however often falsely classified as a humanoid but does indeed belong to the order of draconian sentients due to the third pair of extremities. Them being rudimentary is not of relevance and neither is their lack of a tail.
