Master
The highest regular rank is that of a Master/Mistress also Mastercraftsman/Mastercraftswomen. In day to day life, it is just Master.
The use is either title-name without a guild fixed to it or it is guild-title-name. So it could be - Mastercraftsman Alrik, Smithmaster Alrik, Mastersmith Alrik or Master Alrik.
Some more information can be found in the Apprentice article.
A speciality with the title Master is that it may be made more specific. i.e. If Mastersmith Alrik would specialize in swords he may carry the title Master Swordsmith Alrik provided he has passed the appropriate tests of his guild.
The title of Master is, as all titles in a guild are, bound to a proven skill level and qualification. There are, however, further variations of this title:
a Great Master has qualified for at least three specialities. He might i.e. be a Master Swordsmith, a Master Platesmith and a Master Axesmith.
a Grandmaster has reached so high a sophistication in one field that his art knows few peers. A good example would be the legendary Grandmaster Swordsmith Hattori Hanzō.
