Retter is 13, he hears about the knight recruiting new members and goes into town to get more information. Retter tells Frieda about it and Frieda tells him he should do it, so he signs up and becomes a trainee knight.

Retter is 13. He hears that the kingdom is recruiting new knights. Interested, he goes into town and get's more information. As Usual, he gets ridiculed by the other villagers. Later, he goes to tell Frieda about this and she says he should do it if he thinks it's right for him. He signs up. The training captain finds out he doesn't have a last name so he gives Retter the last name Discord; saying he sees his desire to cause chaos in his eyes.   When Retter first enters the mess hall, he is greeted by Leon, who becomes his friend. He runs into Dieter who declares Retter his rival. Leon tells Retter to ignore Dieter because he's a stuck-up brat. He shows Retter to his table and introduces him to his friends: Sena, an intimidating emotionless blue-haired guy with piercing orange eyes. Yvette: A native American girl who really likes food, bread mostly. And Christina, a pale, blond girl with icy blue eyes and a white streak in her hair, claims to be from an ordinary family.
