Former Galactic Republic Intelligence officer Berch Teller leads a failed rebel campaign againstGrand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin and the Galactic Empire. After Tarkin defeats the rebel cell, he is promoted to Grand Moff. Teller disappears and is presumed dead.

Former Galactic Republic Intelligence officer Berch Teller leads a rebel campaign against the Galactic Empire, and Moff Wilhuff Tarkin in particular due to Tarkin's involvement in the Antar Atrocity. Teller and his rebel cell steals Tarkin's personal starship Carrion Spike and use it to attack several Imperial facilities, broadcasting their actions over the HoloNet. Tarkin defeats the insurgents during the a battle near the Gulf of Tatooine. With the defeat of Teller's insurgents, Tarkin is promoted to Grand Moff and Governor of the Outer Rim Territories. Seeking retribution against Tarkin, Teller makes a failed assassination attempt on the Grand Moff's life, but is captured and left for dead.
