Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Gabriel Caranos is a half-elf man who looks to be relatively young for his age thanks to his elven heritage. His skin is slightly tanned and has brown hair that goes down to his shoulders (sometimes tied back). He is of average build and has a bit of stubble on his face.

Apparel & Accessories

Caranos wears a white lab coat with gold and silver tassels. On the back of his coat is the Gaia-Stella symbol that has Draconic text at the bottom that says, "Grand Researcher," identifying his role. He does also carry a pair of reading glasses. Due to an injury that he got during the 6th Holy Grail War, his left hand has been replaced with a prosthetic mostly made of brass.

Personal history

Gabriel Hakuno Caranos was born in 564 in Bukatelia's Turngem Town. His mother was a wood elf from the Einfeld Settlement and his father was a human from Romashire City. From a young age, his mother would teach him as much elven magic that she could while his father worked tirelessly as a treasurer for a business that he never told him about. As he grew up and went through schooling, he felt that magic was his true calling and, at age 20, he began attending the Hybrida Magica University, majoring in Arcane Magic. He graduated after 10 years, earning him a master's degree and a couple thousand gold pieces in debt.
To try to pay off his debt, he attempted to do some tutoring at the university, however pay could've been better. Several years of working later, he came across some rather shocking news. Bukatelia had been inducted into the 6th Holy Grail War, a routine event that he nearly forgot about. Realizing that it was now or never to put his skills to the test, he decided to join the war, hoping to strike gold. Unbeknownst to him, the Bukatelian government had other plans. After several months of fighting and getting his left hand sliced off by an enemy servant, Bukatelia had won. However, the Bukatelian government's plan went into action and, before Caranos' very eyes, Bukatelia's last-standing servant charged at and destroyed the Holy Grail with their Noble Phantasm.
After that massive event, Caranos and the other remaining Grail Warriors were compensated well with thousands of gold pieces, more than enough to cover his debt. He decided to move on. He had heard about a special research organization known as the Gaia-Stella Organization. After managing to get into contact with a recruiter, he managed to enter the organization. There, he would put his magical knowledge in helping the organization learn more and more about the world and of magic.
In the year 625, a research team that included him discovered an anomaly in a Lekronese mountainside. It was soon reported to be a sort of rip in the weave. Realizing that he needed to act fast, he decided to bring in heavy amounts of funding and began the construction of Osservatoria Primaria. This major contribution, along with his well-known finesse in intelligence, allowed him to eventually ascend up the ranks to Grand Researcher. This project was finished in 640.

Caranos has a master's degree in Arcane Magic from the Hybrida Magica University, making him a qualified mage.

Gabriel Caranos works as Grand Researcher with many motivating factors. He has great interest in learning as much about magic as he can. He also wants to make sure that him and his team will be able to essentially save the world, as a rip in the weave that doesn't close on its own is a major concern.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Caranos is both tech and magic-savvy. He can work and use a multitude of magical artifacts and should he not know how to, he'll eventually learn it. Contrastly, Caranos isn't exactly all that athletic. He devotes more energy into his research and observational job, rather than trying to get back to his more energetic youth. Him walking around Osservatoria Primaria is about as much exercise he gets.
