Servant
Faction/Representative Servants are like the king and queen pieces of a chess board. They are the most important servants and are considered as top priority individuals to protect and to target. These servants are not bound by one master, but rather are bound under the entire faction itself. This allows faction servants to freely dematerialize and, when the time comes, not need direct magic empowerment to unleash their Noble Phantasm. Their "masters" all share a set of Command Seals and use of a command seal by them cannot be met with objections.
Overview
Servants are inherently magical beings. True servants gain a plethora of abilities such as being able to enter and exit an incorporeal state in the ether, not needing food or water, and most notably, the Noble Phantasm. Noble Phantasms are incredibly powerful abilities that a servants can activate. They are the embodiment of the servant's true identity and as such, vary from servant to servant. On Tynaria Alt, servants are summoned usually for the purpose of fighting for the Holy Grail during the Holy Grail Wars. The Holy Grail grants an immense amount of magical energy that allows for the summoning of multiple servants to multiple summoners. These servants are powered and kept alive by both their masters and by the Holy Grail itself. Should the Holy Grail disappear, the servant must either fully receive magical energy from their masters or fade away until another summoning. During the Holy Grail Wars, selected factions that fight in the war are granted 2 representative servants, also known as faction servants. These servants are slightly stronger than the average summoner servant and serve probably the most important of roles. Like the king and queen pieces of a chess set, if both faction servants are defeated, the entire team will be at the mercy of the successive faction. In a way, defeating the 2 representative servants is a slightly better way to defeat a faction, as it doesn't necessarily involve the need to completely kill off every single Grail Warrior.https://www.worldanvil.com/sheet/1000760/view |
Basic Information
Anatomy
Servants tend to look exactly like any sort of humanoid. Specifically, they take on the appearance of a historical and/or legendary figure, usually in the form of the figure's prime of their life. If the servant was native to the world they were summoned in, the collective idea of what said individual looked like may also influence the way they look.
Genetics and Reproduction
Servants can't reproduce due to the fact that they are both magical and spiritual beings.
Growth Rate & Stages
Servant's "grow" in strength and power in accordance with their summoner master. The stronger the master's magical strength, the stronger the servant is. Sometimes, when a servant reaches a certain threshold of new strength, their physical appearence, clothing included, may also change. This is known by mages and summoners as Ascensions.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Servants do not require food or water to live. However, many servants still choose to consume food and drink purely for enjoyment. In place of food and water, servants require mana from their masters.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Servants have the unique ability to detect the presence of other servants within their general vicinity.

Naming Traditions
All servants have a true identity of their legendary/historical figure. However, they are usually referred to as their "class" rather than their actual names. While this isn't a universal law, it's generally preferred both by the servant and the summoner in order to protect their identities and to give a slight edge in combat, as an enemy that doesn't know the true name of a servant may not know exactly what the servant has up their sleeves.
With the end of the 6th Holy Grail War, this naming tradition is generally no longer used.
History
The first true servant ever summoned by a summoner occurred during the year of 55 on Tynaria Alt. The identity of the servant has been lost in history, but accounts still recall the event where a mage who was diligently practicing conjuration magic managed to channel all of their magical energy in such a way that they ended up summoning a full-on humanoid person. That person's first words to the mage was "I ask of you, are you my master."
Centuries later, the first Holy Grail War began in the year 350. Throughout a Holy Grail War, each warring faction would be granted two powerful servants summoned by the Holy Grail itself. Often called "Representative Servants," they essentially served as the King and Queen pieces of a massive warring chessboard. They served their faction and were under the collective control over said factions' main leaders.
In the year 600, the 6th Holy Grail War began and the process of summoning servants was repeated. However, the actions of the supposed winning faction would end up leading to a major turn of a events within the world of Tynaria Alt. The winning faction, rather than using the wishes provided by the Grail, decided to use their last-standing Representative Servant to destroy the Grail. The Grail's destruction caused it to spew out an unbelievable amount of magic energy across the world. This increased concentration of magical energy meant that since the year 600, servants could be summoned without the need of a Holy Grail War to be present.
In the current age, a vast majority of servant summonings are done under the supervision and control of Gaia-Stella Organization. Because Gaia-Stella knows the true potential of what servants are capable of, they seek to utilize servants for their purpose of protecting Tynaria Alt from extraplanar threats.
