Auferetu
Auferetu is the northern portion of The Island of Tod and is where the majority of the island's total population resides. Auferetu is also what one would call a 'megalopolis', with several small settlements and a singular large city rooted in the center that connects every other area.
The area is largely covered in fog, which had led to many unique inventions and customs in the thriving culture. It is also home to many powerful beings both past and present. Among these beings include the overall reigning monarchs of midnight, the paragon of passage, and several witches and scholars.

Demographics
Since the island is closed off, and traveling to it is a very restrictive and thorough process, all but around .5% of the population are natives, the rest are extended families or spouses of native islanders.
For the most part, the wealth classes aren't clean cut, but instead is like a gradient scale. This being said, it is a governmental demand that excessively wealthy individuals have to invest their money back into the community, so even lower class families aren't that bad off. With a given 20% of the population belonging to the lower class, an astonishing 70% live in the middle, and only 10% are considered high class.
As far as job percentages go; 1% serve as guides for visitors of both the outside world and other portions of the island, 14% guard and protect the government buildings including the empire towers, 30% work in mines and expeditions, roughly 31% are fishers and other marine based careers, 14% are farmers and cultivators, while the remaining 10% of the population work a variety of businesses and organizations.

The government can best be described as a Federal Monarchy- in which a single body oversees a federation made up of smaller rulers, perhaps representatives, from specific regions within. The lesser rulers act as a council to the reigning monarch, giving their input on federal issues, calling for changes throughout, and also dictate what goes in within their own regions.
Any of the actions made by the lesser 'monarchs' can easily be overthrown by the head empress or emperor, should the reasons be declared good enough, and a solution or replacement be engaged immediately.
Taxation affects all of society in Auferetu, but is largely proportionate to work input and wealth class. Should one put in loads of work but is in the lower class, they are more likely to get a break than someone who puts in little work and maintains and high class level. Major sources of item taxes are especially prominent in trading with the outside world, including fish, marine-based pets not seen in the rest of the world, and mining material exports.

Defences
Not only are these several layers of ports, that serve both as docks and as defense from the outside world, but many of the personnel that guard Auferetu are trained in magic and mystic arts, along with numerous fighting styles. Many shops within Auferetu sell and distribute mystic crystals which are said to enhance and give one special abilities, guards and soldiers will often combine these crystals with their weapons of choice.
Infrastructure
A special kind of soft pink light was discovered as a way to combat not only the dense fog that envelopes the island most of the day, and well into the night, but to also help lower the rates of disease and death. This light became very popular in the island, and with it came similar lights of different colors, each one holds a different effect; pink eradicates damaged and infected cells and bacteria, blue implemented relaxers to reduce anxiety and other negative emotions, a soft yellow lightens the mood of anyone nearby, and other colors are still being researched for their effects.
With the overall island being a place of magic it would be ridiculous is that wasn't somehow apart of society and jobs, this largely the case when it comes to fishing and farming endeavors. Many types of magic created on the island involving water concentrate on filtering and reusing it. Since there are few fresh water deposits found in Auferetu, many rely on aquatic based magicians to use their skills to separate salt from the ocean water to make it safe for consumption. They are also for running water through systematic pipes and factories throughout the regions to neighboring suburbs and out of town settlers.

Depending on the exact location of Auferetur you are referring to, it can span from a packed cluster of colorful skyscrapers to short and long farm lodges scattered about the island.
In the capital city, Eno, many skyscrapers and other tall buildings can be found, covered in neon lights and window screens. There are also multiple bridges connecting many buildings together and even allowing for foot traffic when cars and other vehicles are backed up during particularly busy days.
In farming districts houses and other buildings are dug into hills, it is here that the importance of your name is determined by the variety of flora that grows above and around the hill. These buildings are often supported with think logs from forest districts, and will often have many entrances, some merely for coming and going, and others for loading and unloading tools and supplies.
In forest districts houses are made from a multitude of different wood and mining stones, often the bases are from stone for sturdy support while the rest and done in a variety of wood styles. The roofs of these buildings are flat, so excess logs can be stored until needed, with a tarp of some sort clinging tightly across. The sign of importance for these buildings are determined by the designs and/or paintings the cover the outside. Because of this, forest settlers will call in artists from other areas to decorate or touch up their homes.

Paintings and carvings, along with flora and fauna, aren't used as decorations and showcases because rising and lowering tides with storms will only damaged them in the long run. This group of people determine importance by measuring one's work and ambition, whether it is in setting traps, catching, and cleaning and taking care of their catches, at the end of the day all that matters to these people is the effort you put into your life.

For the most part, Auferetu is abundant in smooth rolling hills all the way to the coasts, covered in meadows of flowers and other fauna. Fog wraps its way over the land, and squeezes between buildings in small settlements and even the large capital city, Eno.

A variety of metals, minerals, and other earthly resources can be found from not only the mines that dig into the depths of the divided mountain range, but also the coastal regions when erosion builds up into sand statues.
Wood and saplings are extracted from the bottom trees lining the mountains and hills, along with various types of plants from farms and meadows.
Plenty of water and a variety of fish are found in the surrounding ocean, along with marine vegetation and natural caves used as parks and gathering places.

I wanna make concept art of Auferetu from a sky point of view eventually, but for now I'm focusing on writing more about the island and it's unique monuments and buildings. Alas, in due time, I will be able to focus more on concept pieces.
