Targvisk (Tar-gah-visk)
Once a grave site for the Frostmourn crusades, all that stood in the location was the main road and a large tomb. However an Inn seemed to show up overnight, fully furnished and supplied, but unmanned. Targvisk was built around this town, eventually becoming a major town of the new draconic empire, then the Kingdom of Arpad.
history
Strange inn
Frequented by necromancers and traders passing through alike, Targvisk was little more than a road next to a burial hill, though in 472 blood an inn called The Smiling Chest, seemed to materialize there, with a sign saying visitors welcome but anything taken would be paid for. Travelers started stopping at The Smiling Chest, helping themselves till they found the price was removed from their valuables. Sellers found binging stock to the area would result in money showing up in their carts as they left. Soon enough people started settling around the inn, building farms and a market.Fortifying for war
With the Hostilities between Essurri and Jindrai growing, the town hired a Goliath mercenary group, The Pack of Judgment permanently. These Goliaths built a citadel atop the burial mound and walled off the city. Hiring non-Goliath for the first time from the population to help fill roles they saw as beneath their honor, such as archers. The city eventually surrendered to the draconic empire, especially after Vupeiss showed up on top of the central tower of the citadel. It maintained its importance as a stop-off and trade center throughout this period.Draconic city
Though little changed under Draconic rule, a population influx did take place. With various 'quarters' being built, the Dragonborn took the center around the Smiling Chest, only to find themselves unable to enter the inn. Several Dragonborn and kobolds also went missing during this time. During the Dragon rebellions, Targvisk just decided it was independent and kicked the remaining Draconians out, once again changing hands without bloodshed, well mostly, several draconian houses were found to have bedrooms covered in blood.Kingdom of Arpad
With a group of Paladins restoring order to the area and necromancy on the rise, Targvisk welcomed the new Akoom state with open arms. Rearranging the city to better represent its population a second citadel was built around the outer gatehouse for the paladins, and a second wall was built to accommodate the growing population. Clerics were brought in to try and ascertain the nature of the Smiling Chest inn, all they found was it was firstly, it was heavily magical, and secondly, if they shouted Ah-oh, singing would come from somewhere in the building. This seemed to only increase its patronage though.City of the damned
As the undead ravaged the surrounding land, Targvisk prepared itself for the worst, though it wouldn't be as bad as Vragh Arpad six years later, it would still come under siege by the undead horde and eventually fall to its unending number. At first, it was left abandoned but several years later, the dead of the tomb was being excavated and raised on mass. the city fell into disrepair, though rumors started by a group of Dragonborn mentioned a room in the Grinning chest was in fact full of mimics. During this time a large ice statue of a Direwolf with spiked shards around its neck appeared.
