History
Birth and early life
Trafor Waterbane was born in mysterious circumstances, being born out to sea, it is unclear to which Waterbane he was born. Lord Vasild Waterbane however claimed the child was his and his wife's, though many were uncertain due to his Human wife not being pregnant a few months earlier and the fact that Vasild has Bronze scales, rather than the Green crystals of Trafor. This was explained away by the fact Crystalline scales ran in the family. During his youth, he was taught through various lectures and family elders. Spending time in various universities around the world, his studies focused on statesmanship, oratory, economics, and psychology.Young adulthood
As an adult Trafor worked within the Lacertillian legal system, dealing specifically with contracts. Though skilled in public speaking, he much preferred a smaller audience, where he could gauge the reactions of each person easier. By the time he was twenty-five, Trafor had become the go-to for foreign contracts, seemingly able to run circles around his counterparts. This led to him leading the representatives that received the paladins of Akoom when they should up.Night of the Burning sea and Marrage
After the vote to resist the empire, an idea Trafor argued against, Trafor visited the docks and used his negotiating skills to commender every ship currently docked, three hundred all things said. He then offered to entertain Fylkir Nulgha when she returned. Trafor was selected to fully handle the negotiations for peace after the battle with a large majority. Drafting the Treaty of Lacertillia in the aftermath of the battle, Trafor followed it up with his own marriage contract to Princess Lazuria of Rivell. The marriage contract apparently being so complex that lawyers with decades of experience in dealing with contracts got lost in its clauses. The following decades were spent continuing his legal carer, putting Lacertillia as the center of trade for the Gem sea. When Lazuria made a play for the Rivell crown, Trafor accidentally broke the contract, though the litigation, due to the complexity of the contract, would take a decade to rule on, after Lazuria's death.Final years
After the unfavorable ruling, in a contract, though he had written, not even Trafor fully understood, a lot of his wealth and land was passed to his late wife's heir, his own son. Quickly rebuilding his wealth over the next few years with truly mean contracts. In 167 Divine, Trafor made a contract that meant he owned the entire Lacertillian fleet, he disappeared the next day. His last witness said they saw him boarding a ship with a doff of his hat, though the ship in question has no record of him.The treaty is a masterwork in diplomatic dominance and negotiation bullying, this contract, however, I'd rather be tortured by my own kind than try and understand its complexity, it'd be less painful.- An Phervian lawyer reading the treaty of Lacertillia and Trafor's marriage contract in 973 Divine.
