Imeyar
God of Magic
Born when the ley lines first erupted across the world, Imeyar is a fairly new god in the grand scheme of the cosmos. They are a genderless being of pure magical energy, both divine and arcane. Imeyar usually takes the form of a vaguely humanoid mote of iridescent energy. They are a being focused entirely on studying all forms of magic, including the magic involved in their creation. When Imeyar first came into being, many of the other gods recognized Imeyar's power and attempted to play on the new god's naivety. Because of this, Imeyar was taken advantage of early on but quickly learned that not all have their best interests in mind. Imeyar has thus taken a much more cautious stance when dealing with any deity, good or evil. Preferring to be left alone, Imeyar delves into what makes the magic of the cosmos tick.
Imeyar is most often worshipped by practitioners of magic (both arcane and divine), leyline gnomes, and scholars. Rainbows are often incorporated into Imeyar's religion as each school of magic, with the exception of necromancy, radiates a color that can be found in rainbows. Rainbows are seen as good omens or other positive signs from Imeyar. They are also incorporated into Imeyar's holy symbols. Priests will wear colorful robes and clothing, attempting to fit in as many colors of the rainbow as possible into their priestly garments.
Churches of Imeyar can be found nearly anywhere that large numbers of spellcasters congregate or live. These structures are often libraries, magical academies, or research centers or contain similar facilities. Most countries allow the open worship of Imeyar and most cities welcome such clergies as the influx of magical goods often bolsters their economy. It is uncommon to find an entire building dedicated to the worship of Imeyar in rural communities but libraries or magic shops in such communities might still maintain a small shrine dedicated to the god of magic.
