Thozan

God of the Forge

As god of the forge, Thozan has crafted some of the most powerful weapons and armor in existence. He is also considered to be the god of architecture and construction. Many of the gods defer to Thozan's expertise regarding the construction of arms, armor, and more complex or grand structures. Thozan is a stoic and powerful individual; some believe he might physically be the strongest of the gods. His dour demeanor and his no-nonsense attitude can be off-putting to some. Thozan has a very rigid and structured lifestyle with a personality to match, believing skill and expertise come from discipline. Thozan is often depicted as a powerfully built, barrel-chested man with dwarven features and proportions. He keeps his black beard and hair long and intricately braided with ornate beads and clasps.   Sa'themar and Thozan were once extremely close friends, nearly inseparable. They often compared and critiqued each other's craftsmanship hoping to help each other improve. They even worked on several group projects together. However, things changed when they both began to seek Azaelenn's affection. Sa'themar and Thozan competed by crafting powerful and beautiful items to present to her. Eventually, Azaelenn chose Sa'themar, which was the final straw that broke the friendship between Sa'themar and Thozan. For hundreds of years, the two became bitter rivals. With the chaos and tragedy that followed Cthulhu's emergence in the world of Urlyra, it seems the two have decided to work towards mending their friendship slowly.   Thozan's worshippers are usually armorers, blacksmiths, and builders. He counts many dwarves among his following and is considered one of their patron deities. Most who worship Thozan believe honest work and dedication determine the quality of a person. While many view followers of Thozan to be workaholics without a sense of fun, this is far from true. Thozan's followers admire strength and fortitude, so it makes sense that they would enjoy games and tests of strength, whether watching or participating.   Most of Thozan's churches or temples are always built to last. Even the smallest and simplest of them are considered sturdy and robust. Bas reliefs, runes, and sculptures are the most common forms of art and decorations within Thozan's churches. Suits of armor and weapons can also be found on display. Many of Thozan's churches have smithies and training yards for followers to work on both their craft and their physical fitness.
