Cradish
An indigenous people of Talingarde, the Cradish (named for what they call the River Roan, the Cradle) used to primarily occupy what is now Myrcia but were mostly pushed northward by the Vendal Invasion into the forests of Broceliande. When the elves settled there, the Cradish became their vassals, and much of their culture (including their language) was deeply impacted by this. They have a common law tradition and pastoral lifestyle, and are famous for their rangers. They are ruddy in complexion but tend to have fair hair and wear makeup to brighten their skin. Cradish prize tranquility, family, and stories. The Cradish are more devoted to the Church than their Veylish overlords but syncretize it with their druidic traditions, and favor the Thousand Saints more than Mitra, especially St. Heru of the Apostolic Heptead whom they see having a special relationship with the pagan god Nogad.
- Ancestry: Most Cradish were harfoots and quicklings, though they count among themselves some few ogres, gnomes, and dwarves now. Even a few elves have taken on their lifestyle, while kobolds and goblins can sometimes find acceptance here as well.
- Starting Languages: Low Talirean, Veylish
- Myrcian Weapons: hatchet, shortbow, longbow, scythe, spear. Cradish weapons are often either hunting or farming tools, and they were the pre-eminent archers on the continent, though the natural aptitude of the elves has quickly outshone them.
