Qualifications

In all organizations that use this title, the Grand Marshal is earned. They are eligible through feats of prowess and the respect of the people. The decision is not like Belor Daeg's parliamentary system where the people or officials vote in some drawn out wait, but the powers that be decide.

Requirements

* Must be in the organization for no less than 10 years.
* Must exemplify the ideals of the organization without faltering.
* Must be hardy of body and mind to endure what is needed of their duty.
* Must have a strong knowledge of the organizations history and leaders.

Appointment

A special ceremony is held after the grand marshal is chosen. The rank beneath grand marshal — which varies between organizations — or king or emperor stand before the congregated and place the badges of office. After the ceremony, it is customary to hold a recreational feast. At these feasts it is common for a string of officials to stand and recite speeches proclaiming good order be upheld and good tidings upon the new leader. The next day is business as usual for the organization and its new leader.

Duties

The new leader must continue to uphold the organizations best interest in mind. Donations to charities are seen as good things, setting a tone for the leader's tenure.

Responsibilities

The leader is responsible for the entire organization's lives. The grand marshal is also tasked with contacting the next of kin to inform of any unfortunate deaths and mishaps. They are responsible for the final decision in the organization. They can hear out any advisors, but must make the final decision.

Benefits

The salary is the highest in the organization, if pay is accepted. Politically, they are recognized by other countries as their title suggests and can request any number of guards allowed by the country. This rarely occurs since most grand marshals do no roam.

A badge of office signifies the rank. These badges are arbitrary per organization, but all relevant kingdoms and principalities keep guides to the various grand marshal ranks throughout the world.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

If the grand marshal is severely out of order or seen to not have the organizations best interests in mind, the granting authority may exercise the right to remove them from office. The excommunicated grand marshal is never allowed that title again in any organization and must not hold any notable power if the offense is deemed egregious.

This title is comparable to Archmage in mage colleges or High Scholar in Kattumalu, Palace of Learning. Most guildmasters call themselves Grand Marshals or something similar, although their power is not as actualized as to the others mentioned.

Typically, whoever bestowed the title is the source of authority for the grand marshals.
Length of Term
Until death or deemed unfit by the source of authority.
