Levies make up the bulk of all armies in Valeria as large, professional, standing armies are cost prohibitive. These regiments consist of peasants, lightly kitted by their respective lords, and pressed into service with minimal training. They stand little chance one on one against trained professionals, but in large numbers are often decisive.
