Levina Dietmar
An artist from Magdeburg, Levina Dietmar, has become quite the topic of conversation in noble courts throughout Valeria. Her paintings are so lifelike that many think she must be some sort of sorceress. Regardless, she has inspired an entirely new discipline in the arts which she calls "realism". Many wish the Crown to patronize the arts in these trying times, and believe that by doing so, faith might be restored in the hearts of Valerians. The Church decorates the walls of its holy places with frescoes and paintings, and wishes for Levina to be commissioned to paint murals in all of the great cathedrals throughout the Kingdom. Academics wish to hire the inspiring artist to teach her techniques to young humanities students and thereby revolutionize Valerian art for a new generation. The King has asked the Small Council to rule on the matter.
