Green Hag
The most common form of hag, green hags are foul beings with a strong connection to nature, which they use to warp their surroundings and prey upon the primal needs of others in order to sow misery among nearby communities of non-hags - or even other covens.
The least intimidating, physically, of the hag ethnicities, their resemblance to humans and elves makes them more unnerving than intimidating. Typically withered and hunched, they still run the gamut of body types, from the gaunt and skeletal to the morbidly obese. They could easily be mistaken for an ancient human woman but for their rough, green-tinged, and warty skin; their mold-green hair; and their needle like teeth. They can disguise these tell-tale signs temporarily with illusory magic but only for short periods. Even their illusions cannot hide their red or orange pupils.
Driven by lies, deceit and mischief, even small acts of duplicitous malice bring joy to a green hag, but most green hags have the ambition to successfully execute a grand scheme of destruction.
Culture
Shared customary codes and values
The greatest delight of green hags is bringing misery and tragedy into the world. Turning hope into despair brings them glee. Of all the hags , green hags are driven most strongly by hate.
Common Etiquette rules
Even amongst themselves, green hags have a natural drive to deceive. Interactions with other green hags are interspersed with small deceits and manipulations. To enter a conversation with another green hag absent of deceit and manipulation would be taken as an insult.
Common Myths and Legends
While green hags have their own myths and legends, one of the ways in which they like to deceive other species is by making themselves into local legends such as a wise woman, hedge witch or a fair fey (using their illusions). Some green hags will adopt this facade for years in order to bring greater misery to even a small village when the opportunity arises.
